The International Relations Office regards the internal control approach as an integral part of quality management so that its activities are carried out in a lawful, orderly and auditable manner. Four core objectives are pursued under internal control:
Processes are standardised through workflow charts, the service inventory and control strategies.
Responsibilities are defined through job descriptions, segregation of duties, sensitive-duty allocation, and delegation-of-authority and delegation-of-duty forms.
The record-keeping and reporting order is strengthened through internal control evaluation, performance evaluation, minutes and suggestion forms.
Risks are identified and managed in advance through the unit risk map, risk inventory, risk score table and risk action plan.
